지난 10월 26일, 서울 삼성동 코엑스에서 진행 중인 2013년 제11회 국제뷰티엑스포 코리아 박람회에 다녀왔는데요.
9월에도 킨텍스에서 대한민국뷰티박람회가 있었던터라 사람이 많이 찾을까 하는 의구심이 있었는데 막상 이날 코엑스에 가보니 많은 관람객으로 북적였습니다.
약 1시간에 걸쳐 박람회장을 전체적으로 둘러보니 네일산업 비중이 크고 화장품은 다소 소외된 모습으로 보였으며 이 때문에 왠지 균형이 안맞는다는 생각이 들어 기분 좋은 하루였음에도 아쉬움이 느껴졌습니다.
- 국제 뷰티 엑스포라고 하기엔 너무 국내 업체만의 행사
- 전시회 비중을 낮게 잡은건지 모르나 이날 참석한 화장품 업체의 부스가 너무 소박한게 아닌가 하는....

하지만, 최근에는 정부가 뷰티산업에 관심이 보이고 있는데다가 전폭적인 지원을 고려하고 있는 만큼 머지 않아 화장품 산업은 물론 뷰티 전시회 또한 높은 성장을 이룰 것이라 믿어 의심치 않습니다. 화이팅!! 화이팅 입니다 ^^

2013년 5월10일 오송화장품.뷰티 세계 박람회에 다녀왔습니다.
비가 내리던 날이었기에 그냥 쉴까 하다가 이날 유기농화장품 컨퍼런스도 있고 해서 아침 일찍 KTX를 이용해서 오송으로 내려갔습니다. 서울역에서 오송까지 43분, 비내리는 창밖을 내다보며 커피한잔 하고나니 어느새 목적지입니다.
오송역에 내려 셔틀버스 장소로 이동했는데 버스가 방금 전에 출발해 한참 기다려야 할 듯 싶어 부득이 택시를 이용하게되었습니다. 박람회장까지 거리가 멀지 않은터라 큰 부담이 없을거라 생각하면서......
택시를 타니 운전기사 분이 박람회에 관해 몇가지 불만을 터뜨립니다. 셔틀버스로 박람회장에서 기차역까지 관람객을 이동시키는 바람에 택시는 물론 지역경제에 도움이 전혀 안된다고 말입니다. 그때까지만 해도 전 그럴수도 있겠다고 생각했습니다.
한 5~6분 지났을까.....박람회장에 도착했을때 택시 가격을 보니 6500정도 나왔습니다. 정말 짧은 거리였음에도 말이죠. 좀 놀라긴 했으나 충청도 택시비가 원래 비싼가 보다 생각하고 1만원을 내밀었는데 거스름돈은 3000원만 건네 줍니다. 왕복요금인가?? 그때 오송이 별로 살기 좋은 곳은 아니라는 생각이 들었습니다...교통비가 이정도면 서울이 더 낫겠지요.
나중에 오송역에서 택시를 이용한 다른 분들께 물어보니 5,000원 내외라 하더라구요...제가 탔을 땐 아마 할증과 시외요금을 동시에 적용한듯....
일부라고 생각됩니다만 오송 택시 기사님께 말씀 드리고 싶습니다. 셔틀버스가 지역경제에 도움되지 않는다고 하기 전에 이런 부분부터 투명하게 했으면 좋겠습니다...뜨내기 손님도 지역 이미지를 형성하는데 상당한 영향을 끼칠 수 있답니다.
택시비를 계산하고 2013 오송화장품. 뷰티세계 박람회장 입구에 도착하니 많은 도우미들의 친절한 안내가 이어집니다. 특히, 지역 어르신 도우미께서 길잃은 아이처럼 두리번거리는 저에게 다가오셔서 여러가지 도움을 말씀을 주셔서 흐린 날씨속에 따뜻함을 느꼈습니다.
티켓을 구매하고 박람회장을 들어선 순간 전 눈을 의심하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 박람회장을 가득채운 인파...그들의 대부분이 중.고생이었기 때문입니다. '비가 와서 그런가?? 다소 의아하긴 했지만 오전 시간이라 그럴수도 있겠다 싶었습니다.
하지만 엄청난 학생 고객 덕분에 박람회장의 힐링체험관, 뷰티체험관 등은 먼발치에서 시설물 외형 디자인만 구경하고 발길을 회사 부스가 있는 뷰티마켓관, 뷰티산업관, 화장품산업관으로 돌렸습니다.
위의 세계 전시관을 모두 돌아보니 이날 전체 관람객의 대다수가 업체 관계자 보다 학생인 까닭에 관람객은 화장품 판매가 가능한 뷰티마켓에 집중되어 있었습니다. 에뛰드, 토니모리, 더페이샵등 학생에게 익숙한 브랜드 부스는 말그대로 명동처럼 인산이해였으니까요.
반면에 아모레퍼시픽과 엘지생활건강 대형부스가 위치한 뷰티산업관과 기타 화장품회사 부스가 전시되어 있는 화장품산업관은 학생의 관심을 더 받아서인지 비교적 여유?로워 보였습니다. 이게 과연 세계박람회일까 하는 아쉬움이 들고...
한달 가까이 박람회가 연속되고 전 중간에 그것도 비가 내렸던 금요일에 방문했으므로 제가 본 광경은 극히 일부일 것으로 사료됩니다. 오랜기간을 두고 준비한 박람회라 그런지 다른 전시회에 비해 규모면에서나 구성면에서 앞도적으로 차별화 되어 있다는데 공감하지만 오송으로의 접근성, 주변여건, 기업의 참여도, 국내 전시회에 대한 외국 바이어의 인지를 감안했을 경우 좀 더 준비한 뒤에 오송에서 이루어졌으면 어땠을까 하는 생각을 해보았습니다.
아무튼 국내에서 위와 같이 차별화된 스타일의 박람회를 볼 수 있게 준비해주신 2013 오송화장품.뷰티 세계 박람회 관계자 여러분 고생 많으셨습니다. ^^
